About
So you may be wondering why this blog has been set up in Fryston’s name? Well here’s some information about the project………
This project aims develop new opportunities for Fryston as a community heritage group within the Castleford region of West Yorkshire.
The Castleford Heritage Trust (CHT) is working to show and restore Fryston’s rich history and landscape by developing a ‘digital age’ version which local people can contribute their own memories, create and exhibit artefacts (such as an ebook, video, talking book or radio broadcast), share documents and memorabilia, and hold online discussions with old friends and fellow community members.
Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) is working in partnership with the CHT to help develop these memories. People from (or who are interested in the histories of) Fryston, Airedale, Townville and Ferry Fryston, Fairburn and Brotherton are invited to one or more of our special events to find out more and have your say.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has asked SHU staff to help groups develop funding proposals for both large and small projects. Staff are ready, willing and waiting to hear your ideas and help groups develop them into live, heritage projects. Have a look at: www.hlf.org.uk/allourstories
